Mid-Century Waterfront Retreat – A Thoughtful Remodel Balancing Iconic Charm and Modern Luxury

This 1950s mid-century modern waterfront vacation property, complete with a separate guest house, was thoughtfully reimagined into a pair of stunning luxury retreats. With its original architectural bones and serene water views, the home offered incredible potential—and our goal was to honor its history while bringing it into the present with sophisticated upgrades and contemporary livability.

Preserving the iconic charm of the mid-century aesthetic was central to our design approach. We maintained the architectural integrity with clean lines, open spaces, and timeless silhouettes, while introducing fresh elements that offer improved function, comfort, and elegance. The result is a seamless blend of classic design and modern refinement.

The remodel included reimagined layouts to improve flow and usability, along with high-end finishes that add polish without overshadowing the home’s character. Natural wood tones, layered textures, sleek surfaces, and period-inspired lighting choices came together to create a cohesive design story throughout both the main home and guest house.

We curated a full suite of furnishings and décor to reflect the spirit of mid-century modern design—sophisticated, streamlined, and warm. Each piece was carefully selected to echo the home's architectural language while elevating the overall ambiance with contemporary styling. From bespoke upholstery and custom cabinetry to thoughtful accents and art, every element was intentionally placed to enhance the sense of retreat and connection to the surrounding water.

Large windows and glass doors were emphasized to capture the tranquil views and create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, ideal for a vacation property. The guest house was treated with the same level of design attention, offering a stylish, private haven for visiting family and friends.
